Shedding light on some injustice is in no way ‘anti-American’ and much less does it make you a ‘terrorist’

It seems tensions within the political spectrum in the United States is at an all time high and the Republican Trump Party is showing indications of desperateness which may point to a potential defeat they already know is eminent. After their racist party leader and presidential nominee attacked Hispanics, blacks, the handicapped, women and pretty much all U.S. demographics except whites, the GOP communications team is now resorting to the good ol' political tactic of accusing anyone who opposes their party of Hate as "anti-American" or "terrorists".
Such was the case of a recent attack column written by Mr. Edgard Portela, a young Hispanic conservative who accused me of being a "Pro-Terrorist Hillary Backer" after I destroyed their Trump Hispanic campaign spokesperson on National TV show "Al Punto with Jorge Ramos" last week. These are the very same scare tactics the Republican Party uses when they know their candidate is on the road towards clear defeat. We all when former Vice President Dick Cheney accused the Democratic Party as terrorists, even going as far as to say, "If the Democratic Party wins, there will be another terrorist attack in the U.S."
That scare tactic seemed to have worked in 2004, but we the people of America learned our lesson. People who voted for Bush because of that scare tactic, found out four years later, that they had committed the biggest mistake of their lives. Osama Bin Laden was never killed or captured during Bush's second term and he sunk the Nation into the biggest economic downfall since the great depression. The Republican Party again tried to accuse President Obama as a "Muslim terrorist" when he first ran for President (they still do today!) and as all of us know, the Republican Party got their asses kicked in not one, but two straight elections. To make matters even worst for the Republican Party, it was ironically BARACK OBAMA, yep, the guy they had accused of being a "Muslim terrorist", the President that actually found and KILLED Osama Bin Laden.
These attacks on my person and accusations of me being a terrorist are preposterous. Puerto Rican political prisoner Oscar Lopez's release is ed by all political parties in Puerto Rico, by the United Nations, and hundreds of organizations throughout the U.S. and the world. His release is not in defense of his alleged actions, but in defense of his release because he has been incarcerated for 35 years and is currently serving an excessively long prison sentence in comparison to other similar cases.
For example, Oscar Lopez Rivera was convicted of "Seditious Conspiracy to overthrow the U.S. government" and was allegedly found to have explosives with the intent to destroy government property. He was found guilty by a Jury and sentenced to 70 years in prison, much more than the unanimous majority of cases with the same charges. He was never convicted of killing or trying to kill anyone.
However, the man who attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan was released just the other day by a federal judge after serving around 35 years, the same time Oscar Lopez Rivera has been in prison. So, in a nutshell, the U.S. government released a white man who wounded and almost killed the President of the United States, but decided to leave Oscar Lopez in prison because of his political ideals of demanding the decolonization of Puerto Rico.
Shedding light on this injustice is in no way "anti-American" and much less does it make you a "terrorist". It's called "fighting for Justice" and it's the reason I went to Law school. If we look at history, George Washington and the Founding Fathers of the United States were labeled as "terrorists" by Great Britain as well, when they declared their independence and started a revolution because the King kept them oppressed under non-self governing rule within the original 13 colonies.
Today, the United States is doing with Puerto Rico EXACTLY what Great Britain did with the original 13 colonies. In recent months, US Congress ed a bill and the PRESIDENT signed a bill known as PROMESA, which will essentially set up a "fiscal control board" on the island that will take over the island government, making its Governor a lame duck. The law declares that the board shall be composed of 7 APPOINTED by US Congress Speaker Paul Ryan and the Governor of PR shall have a seat in that board but his vote shall NOT count. Meanwhile, the US government IGNORED the democratic voice of the people of Puerto Rico who voted to become the 51st state in 2012.
If that is not a dictatorship I don't know what is. There is nothing more American than calling out your own government when it is acting inappropriately and hypocritically. An American Patriot and writer once said, " A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."
This statement is very true. However, violence is not the way to bring change. This is something Puerto Rican patriot Pedro Albizu Campos realized before his death when he said, "Young people have the duty to defend their country using weapons of KNOWLEDGE”.
That is what I have done and what I shall continue to do, even if I am accused of being a "terrorist". I stand up for justice irrespective of what political party is in power and it is with that same conviction that I shall God willing, take the oath of Attorney after my graduation and age of the bar exam soon.
To the Republican Party's communications team that made this ridiculous accusation towards me, I will say this: "I will enjoy watching Hillary Clinton hand the Republican Party its biggest defeat in U.S. history, potentially causing the end of the GOP's existence. See you at the polls!"
